SPANISH ER VERBS FUTURE TENSE

GCSE SPANISH KS3 SPANISH FUTURE TENSE ER VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 high-frequency Spanish ER verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys ideal for***KS3 Spanish*** students who are beginning to work with compound sentences and longer texts, and generally***developing their knowledge and understanding of conjugation and tense in Spanish***. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. The workbook focuses on the correct conjugation of verbs, rather than usage. Language learners do often try to conflate what they know about grammar in their first language with that of the language they are learning. For example, students with English as a first language often get a little confused by the absence of a direct equivalent of will, before they really grasp that the notion of future is indicated in the verb stem + relevant pronoun ending, which is an entirely new concept for learners. In turn, they often mix up future tense and conditional tense endings, and I find it really useful to look at both tenses fairly closely together so that students can compare and contrast both formation and usage. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Spanish-English and English-Spanish, useful for longer-term reference too Three differentiated conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Spanish across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Spanish, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in Spanish. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Spanish verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from a Spanish prompt. Notes and Next Steps template to encourage my students to reflect on their progress, and think about what they can reasonably and realistically do to meet learning targets and progress in their learning answer key Have a browse in my store for more Spanish grammar activities, and a wide range of Spanish language teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too. GERMAN VERBS BOOK #3

GCSE GERMAN KS4 GERMAN KS5 GERMAN VERBS 500 high-frequency German verbs, listed alphabetically English-German - a great learning support resource for KS4 German moving into advanced German A Level learners, and can also be given to KS3 German students, providing verb audit tool, and a language road map with learning goals, outlining the verbs they should ideally know by a specific stage in their learning. I create a lot of language learning reference books for my languages students, they’re really popular with my students, who like to have a bank of reference resources for both initial learning and longer-term revision. There are 22 pages in the book, and all 500 verbs are listed alphabetically English-German. Each German verb is indicated by irr; sein; sep for example, to denote irregular, conjugated with sein, separable. I use the reference book for quick vocabulary quizzes too - either I or a nominated student shouts out a German or English verb, with teams giving the corresponding German or English verb - I’ve found this is a really successful way of avoiding more formal vocabulary tests, while still providing students with frequent opportunity to refresh and embed essential German vocabulary. For UK teachers, these are roughly GCSE / Standard / age 16 examinations moving into advanced level, all examination boards (AQA, Edexcel, Eduqas, SQA). We use the Notes and Next Steps template to think about progress and vocabulary knowledge. Students find this really useful, and do like to map and track their own progress. It can be helpful in guiding and informing whole-group discussion about learning and progress in general, which is a really useful learning activity too - students also note down any new German verbs they learn, enabling them to build a really comprehensive verb vocabulary reference resource. The verbs are useful for engaging with the following topics and themes: youth, identity & lifestyle fashion culture, customs and traditions relationships and family technology and social media sport, health and fitness free time, hobbies and interests entertainment and leisure food and drink Germany and German-speaking countries local, national & international global areas of interest transport holidays, tourism and travel environment, pollution, recycling and climate social issues school, college, current and future study work experience, skills and personal qualities employment, ambitions and career plans Files are non-editable in a zipped format. ENGLISH FOR FRENCH SPEAKERS VOCABULARY CARDS #2

ANGLAIS LANGUE SECONDE ESL EFL ENGLISH VOCABULARY CARDS FOR FRENCH-SPEAKING LEARNERS OF ENGLISH 54 beginner English words & phrases with 54 matching French vocabulary cards really do help to create a lively language learning environment, ideal for advanced beginner English learners. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their beginner English vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The game cards and accompanying Recall & Write activities have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling. The vocabulary groups are as follows: Numbers 0-21 : My family : Colours : Conversation - Questions and Answers Students can work independently of the teacher, challenging themselves and each other in their best English accent to find all the matching words & phrases cards in English and French. The card templates allow students to apply their English knowledge practically and creatively, as they put together mini-quiz cards for each other, preferably from memory. The Reference, Recall & Write book has 8 pages. It includes an alphabetical English-French reference list of all 54 words & phrases. Students find this really useful as a learning support resource, and it comes in very handy for quick vocabulary quizzes too. The Recall and Write challenges help students familiarize themselves with, and really embed, the range of vocabulary in the set, and also get used to reading, writing and spelling in English. It’s also a great way of developing literacy skills in English. There are two recall challenges: Written Recall Challenge One This challenge requires students to write the corresponding French word or phrase from an English prompt. The words and phrases are in random, rather than category order - this challenges the memory more than when the vocabulary is in the order learners first learn it in. Written Recall Challenge Two This challenge requires students to write the corresponding English word or phrase from a French prompt. The words and phrases are again in random, rather than category order. Have a browse in my store for more English for French-speakers resources, and a wide range of other English Language teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! ENGLISCH ALS FREMDSPRACHE ENGLISCH ALS ZWEITSPRACHE ESL EFL ENGLISH VERBS 500 high-frequency English verbs reference book, alphabetically German-English for German-speaking learners of English - a great learning support resource for intermediate English moving into advanced English students, as a verb vocabulary audit and refresher. We use the Notes and Next Steps template to think about progress and vocabulary knowledge. Students find this really useful, and do like to map and track their own progress. ITALIAN ERE VERBS IMPERFECT TENSE

GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN -ERE VERBS IMPERFECT TENSE My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges. I use these kinds of workbooks in lots of different ways: for practice during the introduction phase, for independent choice in class time, for home learning, for practice and revision during vacation and at return to class, and for cover lessons - they’re really versatile, and ideal for advanced KS3 Italian and KS4 Italian students who are beginning to work with more complex texts, including a range of tenses. Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognise and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written Italian is accurate, and that their understanding of Italian across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian-English and English-Italian. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Italian across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in Italian. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Italian verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. We also note down any new verbs we meet, which enables students to build up their own verb vocabulary bank. answer key Try this free Italian conjugation workbook sampler to see if it’s the kind of learning activity that will work well for your students: ITALIAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/italian-conjugation-practice-sampler-12359601 The product is non-editable in a zipped format. GERMAN FRUITS & VEGETABLES FLASHCARDS POSTERS

GERMAN FRUITS & VEGETABLES FLASHCARDS POSTERS

(1)
PRIMGERMAN FRUITS & VEGETABLES FLASHCARDS POSTERS two sets of flashcards @ $1.80 each in the bundle Das Obst und Gemüse auf Deutsch 25 fruits & 25 vegetables in German, definite article, masculine & feminine, singular & plural. Using flashcards to introduce and practice language is a popular and successful language teaching and learning method, providing lots of opportunity for vocabulary games and recall. The flashcards are equally useful as classroom posters, keeping key target language prominent and visible, as well as creating a really German ambiance in the learning environment. I use this set to gradually introduce and work on the concept of gender, and to provide speaking and pronunciation prompts, from the straightforward Was ist das? to Ja/nein or Richtig/falsch questions, which allow us to move to from one-word responses to more complex language, such as plurals or particularly negative sentences, which can be quite tricky in German, and often requires a lot of practice Nein, das ist kein Apfel, das ist eine Banane and so on. This kind of vocabulary is really useful for an implicit approach to introducing and practicing the accusative of articles too, for example Ich habe einen Blumenkohol, Ich habe den Blumenkohl. The key focus on on the definite article, both masculine and feminine, singular and plural, though I do use the set to start to compare these with the indefinite article, which I’ve found to be a really successful way of helping students embed grammatical concepts such as gender, implicitly, without the need for repeated explicit instruction. It’s good to move away from predominantly teacher-led activities, and after the initial introduction phase, I have students take turns manipulating the cards and asking the questions. Again, this is a really popular activity, and a very easy way of enabling students to practise asking questions, instead of always responding to them. The fruits are: green apples; red apple; bananas; cherries; dates; fig; green grapes; red grapes; kiwi; lemon; mango; nectarine; olives; oranges; papaya; peach; pears; pineapple; pumpkin; raspberry; redcurrants; rhubarb; starfruit; strawberries; watermelon The vegetables are: artichoke; asparagus; beetroot; broccoli; cabbage; carrots; cauliflower; celery; corn; cucumber; eggplants/aubergines; French/green beans; garlic; leeks; lettuce; mushrooms; onions; peas; red peppers; yellow pepper; potatoes; sprouts; spinach; sweet potatoes; tomato The posters are 8.5 x 11 (A4) portrait size. There are two backgrounds to choose from - German flag or black wave, so 100 posters in total. The fruits and vegetables are in my store separately, at £3.00 each. The files are non-editable in a zipped format. They’re copyright, all rights reserved. They may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. PRIMARY GERMAN NUMBERS 1-20 POSTERS FLASHCARDS

(1)
PERFECT FOR CREATING AN INSTANT INTRODUCTION TO GERMAN NUMBERS IN YOUR PRIMARY GERMAN CLASSROOM - GREAT FOR READING, SPEAKING AND PRONUNCIATION PROMPTS TOO! These German Numbers 1-20 flashcards / posters create a fabulous German feel to your classroom. Using flashcards to introduce and practise language is a really successful directed teaching and learning activity. Giving your learning environment German ’look’ also promotes German as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of the school. The posters / flashcards introduce learners to Numbers 1-20 in German from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarize themselves with both the ‘look’ of German words, how those are represented in the written form, giving them the opportunity to begin to link spelling with sound in German. The posters work well with older students in their first German lessons too! I use the posters for spelling and mental maths games in German, and vocab quizzes too - the font is definitely big enough to be seen from all over the classroom. SPANISH ER VERBS PRESENT TENSE

GCSE SPANISH KS3 SPANISH KS4 SPANISH PRESENT TENSE ER VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 Spanish ER verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys ideal for KS3 Spanish students who are beginning to work with compound sentences and longer texts, and generally developing their knowledge and understanding of conjugation and tense in Spanish. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. The workbook focuses on the correct conjugation of verbs, rather than usage, but I definitely find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example, with the Spanish present tense, I encourage students to look for patterns across all the verbs, such as the singular pronouns, including for example the singular formal pronoun Usted form being identical, which is fairly standard, but the conjugation of the formal singular Usted does frequently lead to errors at this stage of learning. Notes and Next Steps template to encourage my students to reflect on their progress, and think about what they can reasonably and realistically do to meet learning targets and progress in their learning answer key Have a browse in my store for more Spanish grammar activities, and a wide range of Spanish language teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! FRENCH REFLEXIVE VERBS PRESENT TENSE

KS3 FRENCH GCSE FRENCH KS4 FRENCH REFLEXIVE VERBS PRESENT TENSE CONJUGATION 25 high-frequency reflexive verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys. This ten-page workbook is really popular with my students - they like to work independently, practising and revising how to conjugate French reflexive verbs - they can be quite tricky, particularly for students whose first language does not have a similar reflexive verb group. The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. Students do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation, with those with English as a first language for example frequently say je suis me brosser for I am brushing or similarly je fais me brosser for I do brush. There is the additional issue of the relevant reflexive pronoun, and its location in relation to the subject pronoun and verb. I’ve found that this kind of conjugation drills workbook really helps students to recognize and predict conjugation patterns. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in French across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in French, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in French. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding French verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. answer key Try this free sampler to see if this kind of activity would work well for your students: FRENCH CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-verbs-conjugation-practice-sampler-12307809 Have a browse in my store for more French grammar activities, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! SPANISH FRUITS BINGO GAMES #1

PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH FRUITS BINGO GAMES 100 DIFFERENTIATED BINGO GRIDS AND 40 CALLING CARDS Bingo games are perfect for language learning, and they’re really easy to differentiate. All my students, regardless of age, find playing the games a great way of consolidating their Spanish vocabulary, and developing their Spanish language skills in general - bingo is absolutely perfect for speaking, listening, reading, writing and spelling. This set includes 100 differentiated bingo grids and 40 calling cards - 20 in Spanish, and 20 in English - I always play with English calling cards too, as I’ve found it’s a really great way of further consolidating vocabulary - students have to focus carefully on the language ‘switch’, and translate what they hear really quickly. It’s definitely useful to have calling cards, so that you can keep track of what you’re calling out, and it also lets students be the bingo caller too, meaning they can play entirely independently of the teacher. There are twelve Spanish fruits in masculine, feminine, singular & plural in this set: the green apple the lemon the oranges the peach the raspberries the pineapple the kiwi the pear the bananas the green grapes the strawberry the watermelon I differentiate my bingo games by using picture-only cards, which are great for general vocabulary consolidation and recall, and listening skills. There are 40 9-square grids in total, and there’s a set of color (which I sometimes laminate so that I can just get them out whenever I need to - make sure students have wipe-clean pens on their tables!). I’ve also included the same grids in black and white - simply print these out. I sometimes give out pages with four grids on, and let students choose which order they play the grids in - they have multiple pages - or sometimes, I get the students to cut out the grids, place them in a small bowl or similar on tables and they then randomly choose grids - depending on the size of your class, you will definitely have several winners per game. The grids are designed for all the squares to be crossed off in order to win the game. I also use word-only grids to help students focus more on their reading skills, so I’ve included 40 Spanish word-only 9-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages). There are 20 mixed word and picture grids are ideal for additional challenge and differentiation. ENGLISH SPEAKING PRACTICE CARDS #1

ESL EFL ENGLISH SPEAKING PRACTICE CARDS 100 Q & A & REFERENCE BOOK a great way of getting your students talking without feeling ‘on the spot’, or worried about not getting their pronunciation and accent right in front of the whole class. The Q&A prompt cards offer structured talk opportunities, and focus on vocabulary, structures and general knowledge that they are likely to meet in both the beginning and more intermediate stages of their English learning. My students apply their developing English knowledge creatively and practically by crafting their own questions and answers, using the prompts as speaking frames. With focused and frequent practice, they begin to feel more confident about their language skills, using the Notes and Next Steps pages in the reference book to jot down their ideas. We also use the pages to note how they think their skills are developing, and how well they are beginning to understand fully both the range of vocabulary and grammatical concepts. We discuss as a whole-group to what extent they feel able to ‘produce’ language spontaneously and accurately, and with little or no support or hesitation. Equally importantly, encourage students to note what steps they might reasonably take to improve in the areas that they don’t feel quite as confident about. The language in this set is ideal for advanced beginner English students moving into intermediate English, and feature a range of differentiated questions and answers, addressing various aspects of English, such as forming questions, the use of the present and present continuous tenses, word order and so on. This is really important for language learners, who often attempt to impose the grammar and structures of their first language onto the new language they are learning.
